Today, I Say No to The Machine

Another one lost in the machine,
another one merged with their technology,
and still another, who lost sight of their soul.
It’s the modern-day equivalent of selling one’s soul to the devil,
And losing one’s way.
I too, am tempted every day,
With the hypnotic blue radiation,
and the quick kick of endorphins.
But stronger than my addiction,
Is my will to keep my soul,
along with its natural life force energy that sustains me.
I don’t want to sacrifice the curative powers and,
the ecstatic visions of the natural world,
for a flat screen that siphons soul right through the eyes.
My soul is not electronic,
nor is it somewhere outside of me,
where I have to pay to access it.
Today, I put down my devices and I go into nature,
and I will talk with people in present moment time.
I will let the sun shine on my face,
And place my bare feet on the cooling earth.
Either way, today, I will practice silence,
that I don’t lose that natural communion with my loving creator,
Who loves walking and talking with me.
